Spindles are configured to support standard ER collet clamping (including ER16-2X, ER25-2X, and ER32-2X models) with clamping capacities up to Ø20.0 mm, or F25 face milling arbor adapters for mounting specialized disc cutters. This layout is particularly effective for milling narrow parallel slots, machining opposite workpiece walls, or running combined processes—like side drilling on one face followed by immediate tapping on the opposite face—by utilizing simple 180° indexing or B-axis rotation.
To maintain stable torque transmission and precision during multi-directional cutting, our dual output angle heads are built with precise internal gear configurations:
Gleason Spiral Bevel Gears: The internal drive system utilizes Gleason ground spiral bevel gears in 20CrMnTi Alloy Steel.
Heat Treatment & Precision: The gears are carburized and quenched to a surface hardness of HRC 58-62, then ground to ISO Grade 4 precision standards.
Tolerances: This precise manufacturing process keeps gear transmission backlash to ≤ 15 arcmin and dampens operational noise below 70 dB, ensuring reliable alignment and smooth rotation.
Machining parallel faces simultaneously or sequentially places complex stresses on a right-angle attachment. To offset these forces, our dual output heads feature a balanced mechanical design:
QT500-7 Ductile Iron Casting: The BT50-2X models feature heavy-wall casings cast from high-grade QT500-7 Ductile Iron, while BT40-2X models utilize high-strength structural alloys.
Artificial Aging & Stress Relief: Each monoblock casting undergoes artificial aging and rigorous stress-relief heat treatment to achieve structural stability.
Vibration Damping: The symmetrical monoblock structure is naturally balanced, helping to absorb cutting vibrations and neutralize radial forces during heavy side-milling operations, achieving torques up to 65.0 Nm on BT50 series models.
